The “I should have read that” Book tag

I wasn’t really tagged by anyone here, I just saw this book tag over at Nicole Sweeny @ The Bibliophile Chronicles and I wanted to do this tag because we all have book that we say “I should really read that” to, but do we? I also think this tag will give me a chance of mentioning different books, since I feel like I use the same books in all the other books tags. And of course, because it looks fun and short and sweet!

This book tag was created by Beth @ Books Nest and I think the questions are pretty self-explanatory so let’s get on with it!

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

The Book Thief, by Marcus Zusak. My friend is really into historical fiction and she’s been asking me to read this for years and I…tried. Really. Twice. I tried the ebook in English and then she lend me her book in Spanish and both times I stopped near the middle of it. I am not completely opposed to reading it, but maybe if I get to watching the movie I’ll like it enough to finally finish the book. 😅

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

9361589

The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern. I… have no excuse. Other, sometimes more recent, books grab my attention faster and I just happen to easily find those. But in my defense, not so long ago I read the first 2 chapters of it and it looks like something I might really like, and recently I’m the mood for stand alones so maybe I’ll get to read it this year at least.

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

9275658

So many 🤣 but let’s go with just 2.

Shatter Me, by Tahereh Mafi and Legend, by Marie Lu. I read both books over two years ago. Both were 3 stars for me and I do feel curious about their continuation. Both books are very loved by the YA community and both books were finished trilogies that recently got 3 more books. These aren’t on my immediate TBR but I’m still curious about them.

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

84979

Just two.

9596829

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen and Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov. Unlike the books in the previous question, these are very different from each other. The same friend that lent me The Book Thief also lent me Pride and Prejudice but I am keeping that one because I do want to read it someday, as for Lolita, I must say I’m intrigued by it due to the controversial subject and the way it’s written. Still, I don’t know when I’ll read them.

A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

So many 🤣

23437156

Six of Crows, by Leigh Bardugo. It’s one of my friend’s favorite books and it’s always recommended on the blogging space, and I’m happy to say that I know for sure that I’ll be reading this this year. 🙂

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

Everyone’s favorite show at the moment, of course.

11264999

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I’m awfully intimidated by the huge books and the tiny font and I worry that my interest might fade when the series ends but I think there’ll be a spinoff series so…maybe that’ll rekindle my interest.

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

Again, But Better, by booktuber Christine Riccio. Her first book just came out this week so of course she’s been posting tons of pictures and talking just about it on her IG stories for the past weeks or so. I kinda do want to read it now that I am in the mood for quick, light stories, so let’s see if I can find it because I really Christine and her content.

Andddd that’s it! You are more than welcome to do this tag if you please and leave your link in the comments 🙂 Also, what did you think of the answers? Would any of these be your answers too? Let me know! Let me know! 🙂

pj out!
